Our Team

  • Cedar Charnley

  • Emma Ewert

Emma grew up boating around the Salish Sea on an old wooden fishing dory every summer.

After heading off to school, where she worked as a volunteer lifeboat operator off the coast of Wales, she eventually got a Masters in Education in Environmental Education.

She is passionate about getting kids outside to explore this incredible place!

  • Brian Goff

Brian is a 6th grade teacher, saltwater and high-country enthusiast. Growing up in close proximity to Pennsylvania rivers, lakes, and Appalachian mountains, he spent his free time "messing about in boats" and backpacking into our eastern high-country.

His admirable Boy Scout leaders taught a code of outdoor ethics, leadership values and survival skills and he aims to pass these along in our programs.

  • Paul Lewis

Paul is a mental health counselor working in the San Juan Islands who believes in the healing power of connection to nature and adventuring.

Paul has co-led many student international service trips, has been a commercial fisherman, a wilderness guide, and a carpenter.

Paul has a strong passion for facilitation of coming of age experiences for teens.

“The world is there for us to explore. It is these adventures that remind us of how lovely nature is and make us want to preserve it”—Arielle Wilson, LOSVOP participant
